紫光展锐:成功完成RedCap测试,将在行业落地中发挥价值

1月4日消息(南山)作为“轻量级”5G技术,RedCap自诞生以来备受产业关注。RedCap是蜂窝物联网的重要演进方向,将进一步提升5G应用于垂直行业市场和个人消费市场的服务能力,促进应用场景的丰富和规模推广。RedCap的全称是“Reduced Capability”,意为“降低能力”。顾名思义,就是降低或者说裁剪5G的能力,以更低的成本满足中高速物联场景的需求,从而大大拓宽5G的应用场景,推动无处不在的万物互联。作为中国大陆地区领先的5G芯片开发商,紫光展锐在5G时代锐意进取,此前已完成从R15到R16完整的5G技术与产品组合布局,成为全球支持5G eMBB、uRLLC、mMTC全场景的芯片供应商之一。随着R17标准冻结,紫光展锐在RedCap领域的努力也逐一显现。完成关键性能测试去年6月,3GPP R17标准冻结。其中RedCap瞄准可穿戴设备、工业传感器和视频监控三大核心业务场景,预计到2030年全球将达到近百亿连接。随后的7月,IMT-2020 5G推进组牵头完成了RedCap关键技术及测试标准制定,引导终端、网络设备产业快速具备商用条件。据了解,在去年11月的中国5G发展大会上,IMT-2020(5G)推进组秘书长、中国信通院移动通信创新中心副主任徐菲公布了RedCap物联网技术试验结果。其介绍,基站和芯片已可支持RedCap基本功能,部分组合上下行峰值速率、用户面平均时延可达到或接近预期理论值。紫光展锐正是参与者之一。2022年10月,紫光展锐相继完成了中国移动首个5G R17 RedCap功能与性能验证、携手中兴通讯顺利完成了5G R17版本的RedCap关键技术实验室验证和北京怀柔外场性能测试。其中,与中国移动的联合测试,基于TDD 2.6GHz频段和FDD 700MHz频段,5G RedCap单用户业务速率均达到理论预期。在此基础上,紫光展锐还率先完成 5G R17 RedCap网络下VoNR技术验证,这也是国内首次在RedCap测试中成功实现通话业务。与中兴通讯的合作测试,采用中兴通讯5G NR基站和紫光展锐5G R17 RedCap平台测试终端,基于相关规范完成了RedCap终端的小区接入和驻留、小区重选与切换、RedCap UE 和Legacy UE 共存、上下行峰值速率及时延等功能和性能的技术验证,以及RedCap UE接入与基本工作流程、单用户峰值吞吐量、多点接入与吞吐量、用户面时延、移动性测试等测试内容的验证。包括紫光展锐在内,众多芯片厂商的成功测试,为RedCap的底层技术能力验证奠定了基础。紫光展锐作为中国大陆5G芯片领军企业,其对5G提前布局和持续投资,对5G标准体系演进的紧密跟踪和技术突破,起到了很好的带头作用。发布5G RedCap白皮书在成功完成IMT-2020(5G)推进组组织的一系列测试工作后,紫光展锐发布了一本《5G RedCap白皮书》,对RedCap的标准演进、技术要点、应用场景进行了全面解析。从白皮书可以看到紫光展锐在RedCap标准讨论过程中所作贡献。一方面是3GPP标准亮点贡献,例如,紫光展锐牵头推动继续降低R17 RedCap的成本,主推的基于缩放因子(scaling factor)方案获得了14家公司的支持与联署,对R18低端 eRedCap的立项有着积极且深远的影响。紫光展锐还是3GPP R18阶段提供memory成本分析最完整的公司也是首批推动其他组件成本分析的公司。最终,在紫光展锐的积极推动下,memory的成本收益写入了3GPP研究报告。另一方面是标准化共性贡献。例如,紫光展锐是最早提出避免RedCap射频重调设计原则的公司之一,并坚持该原则直至标准完成。对于R17 RedCap最大天线数,紫光展锐和一些终端芯片企业认为,尺寸受限的设备中1个接收天线可能更有优势,并且1个MIMO层可以进一步降低成本/功耗,最终标准确定R17 RedCap UE支持2个或1个接收天线。此外,紫光展锐还参与了多个CCSA RedCap标准项目,并承担了起草工作。对于RedCap的应用场景,紫光展锐基于多年来深耕行业市场的理解,也进行了详尽的分析。据悉,当前业界主流模组厂商已基于展锐5G芯片V510、V516推出多款5G模组。紫光展锐联合合作伙伴还推出5G工业网关,利用5G网络无缝连接生产设备,进一步打通设计、采购、仓储、物流等环节,满足工业环境下的设备互联和远程交互需求。随着RedCap标准冻结和相关测试顺利完成,业界预期RedCap将在今年开启商用阶段。从商用标杆案例打造,到小批量应用,再到成熟落地,RedCap还有很长的路要走。紫光展锐已经布局5G进军千行百业,并成功打造了一批典型应用案例,今后有望在RedCap商用落地中继续发挥重要价值。
