At the OFC 2024 conference in San Diego, USA, Xinyisheng will demonstrate an optical module transmission link based on 212 Gb/s VCSEL technology. Currently, many short-distance links built using 400G SR4 and 800G SR8 optical modules use VCSEL lasers operating at 106Gb/s, and the next technological evolution is to increase the data transmission rate of these connections to a single wavelength of 212 Gb/s. By demonstrating optical transmission links based on 212 Gb/s VCSEL, Xinyi Sheng aims to verify that VCSEL is still a competitive technology solution for short-distance high-speed interconnection of next-generation data centers and AI/ML clusters.
